Love Letters

Believe you me, allergy season is not my favorite. Most days I’ll get at least semi knocked out and have to go through a whole process...Tylenol, shower, heat pack on my face, Digize for the nausea, and crawl back in bed to sleep it off. Can you tell that unfortunately I’m a pro at this? This on top of some challenging stuff at work and life and I’m sure the day is ruined. It’s going to be a bad one.

I’m tempted to skip over my Bible time (Lord, I don’t feel good and have a lot to do so deserve a pass, right?) and tackle my day accepting that it’s going to be a struggle. But then I remember. I remember that I don’t run to the Word because it’s my habit or duty. I do it because His love is etched into every sentence. I do it because that care and concern is what will refresh my heart. I do it so I can hear from Him, and share my hurts with Him. In an instant He can speak to me and change the entire course of my day. I “cast all my anxiety on Him, because He cares for me.” 1 Peter‬ ‭5:7‬

Sure enough, He speaks to my heart. He reminds me that He loves me when others don’t. And that even when they don’t, He has poured enough love into me to give them some. He reminds me that tough days happen, but He has made me tough enough to handle them. And He reminds me that I’m too strong to let my circumstances and situation control or define me.

No matter what is going on with you, go to the love letter that was written by the One who knows everything your heart needs. He’s waiting for you. I’m praying for you. Today I choose to accept His love and I hope you join me. We won’t regret it.
