No Relationship is a Mistake

I’m constantly reminded how important people are. All people. Everyone I meet. That we’re never brought together by mistake.

We have a role to play in each other’s lives. Some people come my way so they can help me change and develop. Sometimes they are the challenges to grow my grace. Other times they force me to see things from a different perspective. They can be here to show me another aspect of who God is. They might be in my life to bring love and support just when I need it. There are innumerable ways another person can impact my life.

On the other hand, there are people that I’ve been called into their life for a purpose. I might not even know what that purpose is. It could be to introduce them to Jesus, or to help them find their purpose, or to encourage them when life is beating them down. No matter what it is, I have to look at people with love and appreciation for the fact that in this big, crazy, unpredictable world, our paths aligned for a reason.

“For even as the body is one and yet has many members, and all the members of the body, though they are many, are one body, so also is Christ... But now God has placed the members, each one of them, in the body, just as He desired.

But God has so composed the body, giving more abundant honor to that member which lacked, so that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another. And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it. Now you are Christ’s body, and individually members of it.”

‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭12:12, 18, 24-27‬

We can’t let opportunity to be a blessing pass us by. Remember, no man is an island, we’re all a part of the same body. What we do doesn’t just affect us. And the world is a better place when we recognize that we make an impact on others, and refuse to let the opportunity to make a positive difference pass us by.
